We used the display case to promote the book and bake sales and advertise our past achievements. |
|
We assumed a larger presence in the community by distributing our brochures to several area businesses for deisplay and by participating in the Lincoln Craft Sale and the Macedon Lumberjack Festival. In addition, we sponsored the first annual scarecrow contest, which we hope to continue. We received donations for prizes from Target, Athenia Restaurant and Bill Gray's. We also registered on GoodSearch.com and passed out bookmarks in the library encouraging patrons to use the site so that we could earn some extra money. |

We held two successful book and bake sales and participated in teh Festival in the Park. |
|
We have obtained our 510 (c)(3) as well as tax exemption from New York State. |
|
We have obtained a few new members. |
|
We obtained a wish list from the library staff and fulfilled their wish for a hard drive on which to store pictures. We also renewed the movie license for the library. |
|
We raised approximately $4500 at our two book and bake sales, the craft sale and a raffle of a baby basket and another $500 through memberships, meeting our goal of $5000. |
|
Jane attended a workshop at PLS to learn about the Rochester Area Community Foundation. It was determined that we do not have enough money to begin an endowment at the present time. |
|
We
provided refreshments for several library special events... the summer
ice cream social, the open house in April and the Walworth Memories
Program. In addition, snacks were provided for children's programs. |

We
have continued the
on-going book sale with great results. |
|
We have continued to fill the children's display case with attractive displays. |
|
We updated our by-laws. |
|
We updated our brochures and develped forms and a process for facilitating record keeping for both library requests and reimbursement requests from Friends. |
|
We secured a donation of a Play Station. |
|
We have been active in attending meetings and having input to the space crunch situation at the town hall. |
|
We added a new committee... the Sunshine Committee... to acknowledge members' family deaths or illnesses. We sent Mary Zingerella flowers during her long illness and gave a thank you gift to Pam Wolfanger for her help during Mary's absence. |
|
We made a contribution to the Harold Hacker Fund of the Rochester Rundel Library, to PLS for the Lobby Day bus and to the Walworth Firemen to thank them for their generosity to us in loaning us the tables for the book sales. |

Book and Bake Sale 2008 Walworth Town Hall, 3600 Lorraine Dr., 1st floor meeting room Thurs., October 9 Fri.,
October 10
Sat., October 11 · Set-up date: Wed., October 8 (9 AM – 8 PM). · We accept: gently used books, videos, CDs, cassettes, and audio tapes/books. · Donations: If possible, please keep your book donations until October 8 due to storage space constraints at the library. · Sign-up sheet for workers and bakers is available at the circulation desk.
